Founded in 1998 by Nancy Buirski, and now recognized as the premier documentary film festival in the United States by both The New York Times and indieWIRE, the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival celebrates the power and artistry of documentary film. The festival is an important arena for documentary filmmakers — a place where they can showcase their work theatrically in an environment that stimulates conversation and community between other filmmakers, industry executives and the general public.

A note about the cinematography. This documentary owes alot to cinematographer Andy Cifelli. We shot all interviews and location footage on his Panasonic HD Varicam at 24 frames per second.
Andy did an amazing job lighting the interview of Simon, achieving a daylight balance to blend with the large picture windows in Simon's suburban living room. His work in Simon's basement lab is especially dramatic, contrasting the dark areas of the basement with the ambient light of the photo lightbox. Andy is a versatile shooter, able to adapt in all kinds of situations and he did me a great favor by working on this documentary's limited budget. In this photo Andy is setting up a shot of Simon photographing the Manhattan skyline from Exchange Place in Jersey City.

The Dentist From New Jersey is in the final stages of Post Production. The length of the film will be 21 mins 30 seconds including credits. The picture has been locked and "onlined" and we are awaiting the final music score by composer Daniel Faga.
Currently we are submitting to several documentary film festivals. So far we are waiting to hear back from: The Tribeca Film Festival, South By Southwest, The Chicago International Film Festival and Full Frame Documentary Film Festival. Next we are looking at Hot Docs in Toronto.

The Dentist From New Jersey is now in post production. John Knapich is in the process of editing Simon's interviews and location footage while also cataloging/scanning the more than 10,000 slides of the World Trade Center to be included in the film.
The footage was shot on the Panasonic HD Varicam at 24fps.
